Really great job at engaging the player even though the game is hard and punishing... I definitely recommend you try to finish it! (extremely satisfying)
You have an awesome talent for creating really polished experiences. Art sound effects, the feel of mechanics and responsiveness you seem to be able to do it all. It's really great that you're taking up on making a game every month - I can imagine you'll be a beast at finishing games after that.
Also I hope you won't abandon the nightmare hunter project as it already seemed very polished and interesting. Would love to play that game!!
really cool game! The art and the soundtrack was awesome and really polished, also really impressive how quickly you made this. I did have 2 smallish criticisms after beating it though:
I didn't like the parts where you were next to the edge of the room because of how your mouse would get stuck. This mostly was just a minor inconvenience but on the room after the robot it made the room a lot harder, and I get that its a rage game but It felt like it messed with the main mechanic, rather than challenging your use of the main mechanic which bugged me.
My second complaint is a lot smaller but sometimes I would land on the edge of a tile and then keep sliding (on a flat tile) and I didn't really understand why that would happen, but maybe I'm just dumb.
Really cool game though, and took me a bit longer then an hour to complete
I really enjoyed this game! I believe the short playtime is perfect for a game like this, it keeps it from getting too frustrating, and it makes it possible to beat, even for someone who doesn't want to spend multiple hours.
Also the art style, sound design and music make this a really enjoyable experience, even after falling all the way down to the beginning.
After 3 days of trying I finally made it to the top. I know this was meant to be a rage game but thought it was incredibly difficult, It never felt unfair, and when I made a mistake I knew it was my fault. As a result, I never got upset. Really well made. A little derivative of jump king, but considering that this was made in only a month, the quality and level of polish more than makes up for that. Thank you for this gem of a game :
Loved Crevice Climb! As a solo developer myself, it is very inspiring and humbling to see such an all-round well made game. All the best for Nightmare Hunter and any of your future games!
I normally do not enjoy rage games but this one is different. The art style, music and sections with checkpoints kept me going. Loved the game, played through it once, and then I replayed it right after.
The art is so charming and cozy. I love the metroidvania exploration meets foddian rage style gameplay, they compliment each other so well. Despite my constant frustration I couldn't keep myself from loving this game :)
Giving the player an upgrade that changes how they interact with old rooms pairs so well with 'Foddian' level design, I'm surprised I haven't seen it before!
It changes how you play through old rooms, adds some skips that let you get back to where you fell faster, and even saves you from falling on occasion. All this without adding any new controls — seriously, well done.
What's here is charming, polished, and fun. I've never played a game like this before, but thanks to these design decisions I was compelled to beat it. Challenging but ultimately fair!
Yes, even when you are sent back to the beginning, having a shortcut open to you that wasn't there before is really cool, and though this game only has the ice pick, if this game were to be developed into a full commercial release, then I would love to see more of that.
The animations are adorable. That Character falling on his face makes me go "aw sorry" all the time, but the mechanic is unexpectedly fun to use. I wish it was a longer game :)
dude the game feel is so good. sound effects, animation, ooh its so good. i especially like the little line that appears when you charge a jump. well done.
the game is so good I played for a while on slowmotion just please add some optimisation settings maybe removing the background or making the lights baked(downloaded version)
Please teach me your ways of optimizing a gamemaker html game this good master oogway.
Jokes aside, this is a really interesting twist on hollow knight and jump king combined, I really enjoyed... falling down a lot of times, and that wall jump mechanic added a lot to the gameplay.
Hahaha thank you, honestly all I did for optimisation was having all the level graphics on asset layers and using scrolling background layers for the fog & snow
Really loving it so far! Don't let the other comments about the difficulty bother you. An assist mode could be cool, but it's obvious you're getting your inspiration from games like Jump King, Pogostuck, and Getting Over It. If I didn't have to study and get to class right now, I could get sucked into this game all day! and I will definitely be coming back to it later afterwards lol. You could definitely be selling this on steam for a few bucks
Thank you :) Yeah the difficulty was something I was a bit worried about but I decided to keep it as it is to stay in line with the true Jumpking genre experience
Such a cute game! I love the art style and animation, and it's got just the right amount of polish. The only thing I would say, is that it is really difficult. I played it for about 45 minutes and only just got passed the big room with the face. It would be nice if there was an assist feature, maybe where the arrow stretches out a bit further, but not all the way, like in Angry Birds or something. But overall it's such a nice experience to play, would definitely rate it 10 rages out of 10. Oh and I love how the music changes, it's nice to know how far you actually fell based on the music.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Yeah I feel like I def could've done a better job with the difficulty curve as it definetly ramps up alot going into the big face room.
I started following Green Box Games' 2 Minute Devlog Series from the start and I've had a blast with both of the games released so far. Tumble Tundra is a brutal rage platformer with a gorgeous, breath-taking art style. While I still haven't reached the end (It's really hard), Tumble Tundra has so far boasted well-designed challenges in each screen. I love how the higher you get, the more layers are added to the music, rising the tension with every jump of progress.
Loving this game so far, so excited to see what comes next month.
Love the art style and the visuals and it's really cool that the music dynamically changes. One thing I will say though is that this gives Celeste a run for its money. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME IF YOU ARE BAD AT PLATFORMERS., otherwise its a pretty fun time. Would definitely recommend if you like repeatedly bashing your head on a low ceiling and falling down to the very start of the game.
Gorgeous art style! But first level was too unforgivable for me to get engage enough to continue playing. Tried for 5 minutes and couldn't get out of the second room, so it seems the game is not for me

Great game! Tip: If you are sliding on ice, as long as you are still touching it, you can jump to the other direction to stop your momentum.
I am going to keep falling down to the 2nd floor now.
Awesome game!
Reminds me of Celeste. I had a lot of fun with this game mechanic. Well done! :D
I love the art and how much it is a completed product in such a short time :)
very cute game. a nice mix between celeste and jumpking, very unique. its a quick play so i highly recommend it.
lovin ur style so much
Really great job at engaging the player even though the game is hard and punishing... I definitely recommend you try to finish it! (extremely satisfying)
PS: who also thought about speed running it? :)
i did got to 2:26

LOVE your level design and music but some areas are a bit flawed...
Sometimes I would hook on to the LAST pixel of wall ice and be able to skip the area :(
But that's only in like 2 areas other than that BEST RAGE GAME EVER!!!
so good in fact i'm not raging.
the music calms me down when I get mad

Loved the art , sound track , mechanics and everything.

It's extremely well done but now I played for 30min and am back at the start XD :C

Amazing Game, Love your Content
Thank you :)

Amazing. I hate you for making this, it's addicting and great.
Hahaha thank you
Fun stuff! Feels like Jump King but a bit less punishing. Love the art style and music.
dude the game feel is so good. sound effects, animation, ooh its so good. i especially like the little line that appears when you charge a jump. well done.
This game is SO wholesome bro, I felt really good playing this besides my skill issue haha
I really hoping to see one of your games being published my a large and most important, good publisher.
I know some coding and I'm a artist too, if you want to help or something just talk to me. I'll be really glad to help.

Just beat the game and it's surprisingly good! I'm excited to see how all your monthly games turn out.

I played it again today, made it up to the guy on the rope, and I was on the last jump with the ice, but then fell all the way back to the bottom XD
I'm determined to finish it tho
I finished it! I love the ending it's so cute, although I only got 2 of the blue things. Such a fun game tho, really enjoyed it!
Cool game!
Thank you!
what does the hammer do?
It lets you stick to the ice walls :
